4. Zack Snyder
Woah, there, hold on a second, you say. You love Zack Snyder, right? You can't believe that Zack "300" Snyder has made it onto this list, can you? Well, allow me to explain myself, 'less you've already found your way into the comment box below. Firstly, I'll say that Snyder is a good filmmaker. He's got talent. And though
Watchmen was a good effort, nobody would be that sad if (having seen it) it had never been made. Okay, so, that's that. As for
300, it's an entertaining enough movie, but it's also the flick that inspired about twenty-six copycat variants and ignited a kind of CGI/ancient warriors trend which has only ever been a disservice to movie-making in general - I'd trade
300 so
Clash of the Titans and its sequels didn't exist. That owl movie... that... that speaks for itself. And
Suckerpunch... well, that was... a movie. Snyder's debut, his remake of
Dawn of the Dead, is still my favourite out of his entire canon. It's a really good remake, and an even better zombie film. It's fun and totally unpretentious. And that's the Snyder I prefer. I could do without his other movies, because none of them feeling that real, anyway: the man's a a video game director. Though, I'll admit, I'm still hoping that
Man of Steel will change my mind.
