8 Disconcerting Things About The New Jurassic World Trailer
4. The Dialogue Sounds Really Cheesy
Of course, we weren't expecting anything remotely artful, but the dialogue cues scattered throughout the trailer are - in a nutshell - really poor. No, we can't judge the new film until we see it in its entirely, but everything sounds a little robotic and cheesy at the moment - the tone doesn't appear natural as a result, and embodies the feel of a fan trailer or a video game, even. It's sort of hard to put your finger (or claw) on. The absolute worst moment in the trailer with regards to the dialogue occurs when the camera zooms down on Chris Pratt's dino trainer, Owen, as he utters the line: "What kind of dinosaur they cooked up in that lab." For some reason - and this might be because we're not used to seeing Chris Pratt do "serious" - the delivery of this particular slice of dialogue feels like something akin to parody. We pray the rest of the script is better.
