8 Disturbing Stephen King Book Moments That Were Cut From The Films

3. Pet Sematary: Wendigo Speaks Through Gage

Fans of '80s horror have probably had a few nightmares featuring that creepy kid from Pet Sematary. Well, he was a little angel compared to the version in the novel.

The reason he was so much worse on the page is because of the in-depth lore than was emitted from the film. In Stephen King's source material, a demon called Wendigo is the evil which plagues the titular Indian burial ground.

This entity vicariously wreaks havoc through the dead which rise from the pet cemetery, and that's exactly what it does with the resurrected Gage.

Although Gage is a creepy, murderous child in the film, he's something much worse in the book. Tapping into Wendigo's extensive knowledge, he goads his victims with their deepest secrets and has them confess to their darkest sins before killing them.

The scene where he ends Jud Crandall is particularly chilling as he tells his victim that his wife has been cheating on him and mocking him with her friends, before delivering a bloody coup de grace. This is so unsettling and unnatural coming from a child, albeit one under the control of a demon.
