8 Dream Star Wars Castings That NEED To Happen

6. Benedict Cumberbatch Needs To Play A Sith Lord

A few years back, a great many Star Wars lovers were actually intrigued by the idea of Doctor Strange himself Benedict Cumberbatch playing none other than Grand Admiral Thrawn at some point.

But with the Oscar-nominated Brit ultimately turning down the idea of being covered in blue paint (via Collider) and Lars Mikkelsen eventually returning to the role from Ahsoka onwards, Cumberbatch is now free to pursue other antagonistic parts within this volatile galaxy.

Watching the mesmerising thespian possibly don a black cloak and red lightsaber as he looks to take down Rey's new Jedi Order in the upcoming Sequel Trilogy follow-up flick would undoubtedly be a blast.

But away from stepping into the role of a brand new dark side practitioner, perhaps Cumberbatch could even bring to life a younger Dooku at some point, exploring the infamous figure's life during the time before he became Palpatine's apprentice.

Either way, Cumberbatch's natural gravitas, menace, and ability to convey inner turmoil make him a perfect fit for a Sith Lord or fallen Jedi at some stage in the future. So, here's hoping he's given the chance to add Force Lightning to the list of things seen shooting out of his hands on-screen in the coming years.
