6. Jean-Claude Van Damme Had To Run Around In A Red Leotard For His Big Break

Jean-Claude Van Damme thought Predator would be his big break; after all, he was playing the title villain in a big budget Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, so what could possibly go wrong? Well, for a start nobody told him he€™d essentially be playing an uncredited special effect, or that his face would never be seen on camera. Then he saw the original Predator costume, which was a hideous looking giant bug thing that was extremely difficult to move it. For most of his time onset he had to run around - in the sweltering heat of a Mexican jungle - in an outfit that made him look like a giant lobster. This role did his ego no favours, and he often injured himself because he couldn€™t see out of the costume properly. When the studio decided the costume was awful Jean-Claude was fired, though it wasn€™t a total loss; he got his SAG card and scored a leading role in a martial arts film because of Predator. He€™s never spoken about his experience though, and the pictures of his work aren€™t exactly flattering.
