8 Embarrassingly Bad Movie Auditions Starring Famous Actors

7. Josh Hutcherson (The Amazing Spider-Man)

Role? Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

Did he get the part? No.

The Amazing Spider-Man series is probably the least beloved big-screen take on the webslinger to date, but one of its best parts was Andrew Garfield's likable, amusing take on the titular character.

But there is a universe where that wasn't the case, with a pre-Hunger Games Josh Hutcherson going so far as starring in a very extensive (and very cheesy) screen test back in 2010.

And oh boy, does that cheese come thick and fast. From the overly epic music for such a simple fight scene to the slow pan toward Hutcherson's bemused expression and the exceptional gurn he pulls as he lands his flip, it's just embarrassing, and it's not hard to see why he wasn't cast.

The actor also looks like he just Googled "stereotypical nerd" and based his look on the top hits; the large glasses, the scruffy, creased shirt and the helmet hair only amplifying the unintentionally comedic nature of the entire scene.

Hutcherson is a strong performer, but perhaps this material just wasn't for him.
