8 Even More Forgotten Films From The 80’s You’ve Probably Never Heard Of

7. D.C. Cab (1983)

Mr T in DC Cab This comedy classic was centred around then pop culture icon Mr T (a legend in his own right) but if a film was ever judged by the quality of its cast this would have been nominated simply because of its impressive list of actors, some of whom went on to bigger things for better or for worse. Not only was it Adam Baldwin's first feature film (star of Chuck, Firefly/Serenity and Independence Day) but it featured performances from now well established names like the infamous Gary Busey, comedians Bill Maher and Marsha Warfield, Max Gail (Barney Millers Det. Wojohovitz) and was directed by none other than Joel Shumacher. You may know him from his soul crushing work on Batman and Robin. This ensemble cast of then unknown actors absolutely shine as a group of cabbies working for a derelict cab company in danger of being put out of business by their much hated but more financially viable (and better) rivals Emerald Cab Co. Controversial upon its release due to Mr T's appeal to children as it was an R rated picture, it nevertheless went on into obscurity as the millennium drew to a close. Definitely not for the PC crowd, it does have a racial overtone and could be considered vulgar on many levels, but in a fun way that only an 80's comedy ever could. For those who are not as susceptible to the culture shock of days gone by, this is a funny movie that is worth at least one watch. Preferably with a bunch of inebriated friends, with whatever vice you prefer. If only for the Mission Impossible sequence. I pity the fool who doesn't at least check that out.

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
