8 Exciting Upcoming Comic Book Movies You Need To Know About (That Aren’t Marvel Or DC)

4. Cowboy Ninja Viking

The Comic: Quite possibly the best title for anything ever, Cowboy Ninja Viking is about Duncan, a man with Dissociative Identity Disorder who is turned into an agent known as a Triplet. Why a Triplet? Well, Duncan's three personalities include a cowboy, a ninja, and a viking. And from here, madness ensues.

The comic doesn't take itself too seriously at all (thankfully) and it's an enjoyable read that'll leave a big goofy grin on your face. Guaranteed.

The Movie: Cowboy Ninja Viking was initially slated to hit cinemas in June 2019 (with Chris Pratt starring), but it was recently pulled from Universal's schedule, though the studio did say the project remains in active development.

Why it was pulled is unclear, though several sources pointed to script issues being the culprit. However, Universal is looking at Cowboy Ninja Viking as a potential franchise (and with Pratt attached, there's a good chance it will turn into one) so don't be surprised to see the project pull itself together sometime within the next year. This will happen eventually.

In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show.
