8 Famous Movie Directors With Trademarks You Probably Never Noticed

4. John Glen Got A Kick Out Of Scaring Bond With Animals

OctopussyAs Seen In... For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, A View To A Kill, The Living Daylights, License To Kill The name John Glen might not ring a bell, but the likelihood is that you've seen one of his movies at some point, given that he directed a whopping five Bond movies over the course of his career. Although none of his ventures are really considered to be "classic" entries in the series, Glen has contributed a large percentage of flicks to the now humongous Bond canon, so let's just be nice about him, shall we? Interesting, he made sure to include a running trademark in every flick. Yep: in every Bond movie directed by Glen, he includes a scene where Bond is spooked suddenly by an animal. Seriously. In For Your Eyes Only, birds fly out of the cracks as Bond is climbing St. Cyril's, in Octopussy a tiger leaps out and frightens him (also: spiders), in A View To A Kill it's the classic cat scare as Bond climbs a stairwell, in The Living Daylights some monkeys scream at Bond in Gibraltar, and in License To Kill we're back to pigeons again (presumably all the animals had been used up at this point). What a legacy, John Glen... you dark horse, you.
