For those of you unfamiliar with the comic books, you might be thinking "why is this a surprise?" Well it's simple - the character "Ragnarok" and the event "Ragnarok" are completely unrelated and Kevin Feige has specifically stated that this movie's title is related to the event rather than the character. However, don't be surprised to see the character too. In the event that, as predicted in the previous entry, Thor perishes in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ragnarok's appearance is a definite possibility. Ragnarok was a Tony Stark creation - created to participate in the Civil War alongside the genius, billionaire, playboy and philanthropist after Thor had died in the comic books. Using DNA from a piece of Thor's hair, Stark created the clone and merged it with Stark-tech. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, if the character is created and hears of Thor's resurrection, he may want to venture to Asgard to take him out, believing there's only room for one Thor in this continuity. Expect that to happen in Thor: Ragnarok.
