8 Films Where Not Giving A F**k Improved Everything

2. Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade

Without a doubt the best in the series, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was made because Spielberg promised George Lucas he would always want to do more Indy movies (that would come back to haunt him!) and in his own words, "to apologise for the second one". God knows what he's going to do about the fourth. Originally, they did start caring about the movie, wanting to create something that was completely different to the previous two, but in a classic "what the hell" moment they eventually decided to give us more of the same adventure we loved in Raiders of the Lost Ark. This film really improves on the original in every way though, and almost completely by accident. The love quadrangle between Indy, his dad, Elsa and the Nazis is just fantastic. Sean Connery is brilliant as Professor Jones (mainly because he didn't really care and decided to play James Bond again) and Harrison Ford just fits comfortably into the mix. Action was improved in every way, and we get some genuinely brilliant stunts and effects (I can't be the only one who had nightmares after seeing what happened to Donovan, can I?), and it even rectifies the mistakes made in Temple of Doom by bringing back much-loved supporting characters. So by not giving a hoot and basically remaking Raiders, Spielberg and Lucas created one of the best sequels of all time.
