2. Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince
Another delay that was magnified by the size of the franchise. The frustrating aspect of this setback for the fans was that it was purely motivated by financial gain. The film itself was completed and ready to be released on the original date of 21st November 2008. Warner Brothers however made everyone wait another eight months so they could guarantee a summer blockbuster. There were also rumours that, after the huge financial success of The Dark Knight, the studio wanted to guarantee an equal level of income for 2009. Potter being Potter, they could rest assured that it would make an obscene amount of money at the box office. Frustrating for fans at the time, this cynical move has been largely forgotten in the wake of what was a strong effort from David Yates and co. There's a sense of threat and a new darkness that was absent in the previous five outings. The ending is also more poignant, and does a fine job of setting up the two final films.
