8 Franchises With Two Movies That Deserve To Become Trilogies

7. Hostel

HostelThe Movies So Far... Hostel (2005), Hostel: Part II (2007) I know what you're thinking: internet writer has gone insane for two major reasons. The first reason is that they already made a third Hostel movie, the Godawful Hostel: Part III, right? The second reason is a little more important, along the lines of "why in the name of all that is good would anybody want there to be another Hostel movie?" Those are both exemplary points, of course, so allow me to give you the answers you deserve. I'm a great defender of the Hostel franchise. I think both movies (especially the first) are great fun, not at all the second-rate torture porn hack jobs that their reputations would have you believe. The third movie was released straight-to-DVD, and is considered by director Eli Roth to be non-canon... so there's that. So why do I think another - official - sequel is warranted? Quite simply, we need to see the demise of the notorious Elite Hunting organisation. We need a movie that brings this shady business down to its knees. A definitive cap to this story. With revenge.
