In Okinawa, a priestess has visions of the city being destroyed by a giant monster and faster than you can say, “Doesn’t that happen every other week?” a creature that may (or may not) be Godzilla starts tearing down buildings. After fighting Anguirus (Godzilla’s ally), the creature is revealed to be MechaGodzilla, a robot created by an ape-like alien race to destroy mankind.
If you felt that the American remakes diluted the big G’s legend then you’ll have a good time watching Godzilla Vs MechaGodzilla which features everything you want from a Toho movie: epic monster battles, epic monster battles and epic monster battles. MechaGodzilla (whose eyes glow just like Jet Jaguar’s) is a terrific creation and it’s fun to watch to the big G pummelling his robot doppelganger into submission.
