8 Great Side Characters From M. Night Shyamalan Movies

5. Ivy Walker's Sister From The Village

judy greer the village Character Name: Kitty Walker Played by: Judy Greer Judy Greer is known by most for flashing Michael Bluth and playing second fiddle in any number of romantic comedies. Yet apart from her secondary often more trivial acting pursuits, she has actually shown herself to be a pretty competent character actress. Case in point; her role as the lovelorn Kitty Walker in The Village. It's not the role that wins raves but its definately the kind that deserves respect because of well it's performed. We don't see much of Kitty in the film but for the brief time she is on screen her performance is very successful at deeply involving the audience in her plight of love unrequited. The range of emotions on display; from boundless bliss of a woman in love to the soul crushing ache of love not reciprocated, is acted out by Greer with uncommon bravery and heart. The fact that she wasn't nominated for a best supporting actress Oscar is a major oversight. In a film where everyone else seemed to be on autopilot she was the one spark of energy that made the whole laborious 2 plus hours that was The Village worth while. Raymond Woods is too busy watching movies to give you a decent bio. If he wasn't too busy watching movies and reading books about movies and listening to podcasts about movies, this is what he'd tell you. "I know more about film than you. Accept this as a fact and we might be able to talk."
