8 Hopes We Have For Upcoming Blockbusters (That Will Probably Never Happen)
8. The Length Of The Hobbit Trilogy Will Somehow Become Justified
We're hearing it now with the reviews of The Desolation of Smaug. People are starting to accept the reality of the situation€”hey, it's not that bad. It's actually starting to be pretty good. But really, underneath it all, deep down in our hearts (I almost made a scale pun there), we all know that we're just rationalizing an overblown, gluttonous undertaking (I held back another dragon pun there), one that ruins what integrity the Lord of the Rings films ever had. We've heard time and time again about how the length of the Hobbit movies are exceptionally disproportionate to the length of the book, and how the filmmakers haven't seemed to be doing much to respond to such concerns. Remember that sketch Peter Jackson did with Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn at the MTV Movie Awards? Yeah. We all do. It's definitely true.
