8 Horror Movie Re-Castings That Were TERRIBLE

7. Tuesday Knight - Kristen Parker (A Nightmare On Elm Street 4)

The Shining
New Line Cinema

A lot of horror franchises worked as starting points for famous actors, and A Nightmare on Elm Street is no different. Johnny Depp famously debuted in the original movie, and Oscar winner Patricia Arquette graced cinema screens as the new lead of A Nightmare on Elm Street 3.

Playing Kristen Parker, a charming, competent teen wrongly shipped off to a mental institution after trying to warn her strict mother about the dangers of Freddy, Arquette quickly won over fans despite it being her feature film debut.

Hell, even though this third flick featured the return of original hero Nancy, it was Kristen who stood out, and audiences were excited to see the baton passed on to her for future movies.

Sadly, Arquette's run would be cut short, as she was replaced with Tuesday Knight for Elm Street 4. Though the character evolved quite nicely, Knight just didn't have the same impact Arquette did, and her performance was soured even more as the character was swiftly killed off halfway through the story.

It felt like a complete waste, and that Knight was simply stepping in the role so the studio could get rid of the character and wipe the slate clean.
