8 Horror Movie Villains Who Don't Say A Word

7. The Man In The Mask - The Strangers

The Strangers Man In The Mask
Rogue Pictures

The concept of the two Strangers movies is one that's a hugely chilling, alarmingly real one.

In said pictures, the murderous trio at the centre of these films carry out their attacks largely at random. As Dollface says to Liv Tyler's Kristen about why she had been targeted in the original 2008 movie, it's "because you were home".

Random acts of violence, on random people, for the simple matter that these victims opened their front door when somebody knocked. That's the basic reasoning behind so much of the bloodshed seen in The Strangers and its 2018 follow-up, The Strangers: Prey at Night.

Now while Dollface and Pin-Up Girl utter minimal, short lines of dialogue across these two features, the Man in the Mask - who is depicted as the leader of these three killers - doesn't utter even a solitary word in either The Strangers or Prey at Night.

By the very fact that the Man in the Mask remains stoically silent as he carries out butchers and brutalises people, that only further adds to the questioning and randomness of what he and his cohorts carry out - all complete with the sort of head tilts that would give Michael Myers the willies!
