8 Horror Movies Where Only One Person Dies

5. Tusk

Happy Death Day 2u
A24

In Kevin Smith's Tusk, Justin Long's character of Wallace Bryton wishes he was dead, but his ultimate fate is to live his life out as a walrus-human hybrid in an animal sanctuary.

The only person who actually dies during Smith's 2014 oddity of a movie, is Howard Howe - played brilliantly by the ever-great Michael Parks.

Howe spends the picture slowly transforming Wallace into a twisted vision of the Mr. Tusk walrus who reportedly rescued Howard from a shipwreck. Forming a bond with this tusked saviour, Howe and Mr. Tusk became the best of pals... well, up until the reveal that Howard ended up killing and eating Mr. Tusk.

It's the guilt of that murder which is responsible for the poor fate of Wallace, with Howe desperate to recreate Mr. Tusk and make amends for his past misdemeanour. In fact, Tusk ultimately explains how Howard Howe has spent 15 years trying to recreate Mr. Tusk and relive the good ol' days.

As for the the demise of Howe, he ends up being impaled on the very tusks which he'd embedded into the face of Wallace Bryton. Tusks that are eerily made out of the tibia bones from Wallace's severed legs.
