8 Huge Concerns About Hyped Upcoming Movies

5. The Beast In "Beauty And The Beast" Looks Wrong

As of right now, the trailer for 2017's live-action remake of Beauty And The Beast holds the record for the trailer with the most views in one day, a staggering one-hundred and twenty-seven million. It's understandable - it stars Emma Watson, who hasn't starred in a massive, mainstream blockbuster since Harry Potter, and it's a Disney remake, appealing to nostalgia.

Based on the trailer, the film has a huge amount going for it: the music, the costumes, Gaston...

But there's one central issue nobody is really talking about, so charmed are they by the admittedly spell-binding trailer. The Beast - played by Dan Stevens - looks completely off. In some shots in the trailer his CGI looks downright goofy (compare how he looks to Davy Jones from Disney's Pirates Of The Caribbean, a villain who first appeared on the big screen a decade ago). It's obvious they've had to temper the Beast's CGI so that he blends in with the effects used to create the set locations, but the result is weirdly off-putting.

The most significant problem, however, is that Beast just doesn't look very bestial. The whole point of the animated film is that Belle manages to fall in love with a truly monstrous creature, someone who inspires sheer terror in everyone who meets him. In the film, Beast looks much more humanoid, with a big doe-eyed expression, full human lips and a fairly standard nose.
