8 Huge Concerns About Hyped Upcoming Movies

4. Nothing In The Wonder Woman Trailer Suggests It's Going To Save The DC Universe

At present, DC's filmic universe is in a complete shambles. Man Of Steel, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice and Suicide Squad have all been critical disasters. They've each been panned for their own distinct reasons, but two of the main issues repeated throughout all three are the lack of a coherent, compelling narrative and an overabundance of CGI-laden destruction.

The trailer for Wonder Woman depicts a film which looks no different. All the ingredients are there: slow-mo action shots (do these really need to be a DCU staple?), scenes of flaming destruction, even more slow-mo action shots...

Warriors riding horses fighting against modern soldiers might look cool, but the amount of "cool" scenes in DCU thus far (Dawn Of Justice is in theory one of the coolest comic book premises ever) has proven that there needs to be a shift in focus from style to substance.

The trailer for DC's Wonder Woman shows absolutely no sign of that shift, and the attempts at humour (all of which seem to come from a single, random woman) are frankly cringe-worthy.
