1. Gotham High - Batman And Friends In High School!
This may be the strangest super-hero show idea of all time. It's true that younger versions of famous characters is a popular concept (after all, that is what drove the creation of Batman Beyond), but surely nobody thought that putting Bruce Wayne and his rogues gallery in High School could be a good idea! Here's the story synopsis from the designers' blog:
We all go through incredible changes as teenagers: growth spurts, bad skin, a sudden insatiable need to uphold justice and avenge your murdered parents. Well, that is if youre Bruce Wayne. As if being a freshman at Gotham High wasnt tough enough, Bruces insomnia and technological fascinations are taking their toll. Instead of spending his time studying, he has begun to obsess over an emerging personality trait: Batman. But under the watchful eye of his guardian and steward, Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce is forced to put his intelligence to good use: graduating high school. But given his classmates, can Bruce survive Gotham High?
To be fair, while the show looks like a complete subversion of everything we know as Batman, I have to give props to the creators, Jeffrey Thomas and Celeste Green, who evidently just sent the following image to Warner Brothers, who liked it well enough to ask them to develop an animated series. Am I the only one who's disturbed by the very idea of Joker in high-school?
The following concept art from the proposed show not only teenage Bruce Wayne himself, but also Barbara Gordon as the "sexy girl next door" and much of Batman's rogues gallery re-imagined as high-school archetypes.
