4. Antonia Campbell-Hughes - 3096 Days (2013)
Sometimes the only way to get into character is to put yourself through a similar experience to that of the character you're playing, which is what Antonia Campbell-Hughes opted for when she signed on to play kidnap victim Natascha Kampusch in little-seen movie
3096 Days. Well, I mean, she didn't get kidnapped or anything, exactly, but she did subject herself to psychical torment by way of a torn achilles tendon, a broken toe, a fractured rib and a whole bunch of cuts and bruises, as a result of the movie's dangerous dungeon set. Campbell-Hughes' most remarkable feat here, though, was her incredible weight lost, which attracted a lot of controversy at a time when a picture of the dramatic transformation was made public, and then everyone forgot about the movie and here we are now, in a world where people don't know how or what
3096 Days even is. To be fair, it isn't a particularly good retelling of what is obviously a very traumatic story, but a lot of critics deemed it unnecessary. It doesn't help that
3096 hasn't even been giving worldwide distribution yet, though.
