When it comes to finding the voice of the character they've been tasked with playing in a feature, if said personality comes equipped with an accent or vocal quality very much unlike their own, it's not uncommon for an actor to keep up a specific way of holding a conversation for the duration of their time on set.

However, in the case of Bale on the set of American Psycho, the actor was so committed and his vocal performance in particular was so damn convincing that very few were aware he was putting an accent on at all.

In fact, when Bale did finally drop the suave American tones just in time for the film's wrap party, the entire cast and crew assumed he was simply crafting a new British accent for an upcoming project and taking it out for a test drive.

This wouldn't be the last time the Brit would leave people wondering just where in the world he was actually from either as the actor famously maintained an American accent throughout much of his promotional duties whilst working on Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy too.
