8 Major Batman V Superman Details Revealed By Total Film

8. Batman Is Wanted By The Police

Despite understandably coming under fire when he first donned the cape and cowl, Batman has since pretty much always had a good relationship with the police in his comic books. Of course, it helps that he has a strong ally on the force in the form of Commissioner Jim Gordon, but Batman v Superman producer Charles Roven reveals that the Caped Crusader will be a wanted fugitive in this movie. "He's a little more mature," he explained when asked by Total Film how Ben Affleck's Batman will differ to previous live-action iterations of the character. "He's been doing it for a long time. Maybe jaded by it and darkened by it. He's tougher. He's different. He's still a vigilante, and he's technically still wanted by the police." This leads to a lot of questions; has Batman been wanted by the police since day one (which wouldn't be a huge surprise considering the fact that the trailer showed just how violent a crime fighter he is, branding those he catches) or could it be that Jim no longer being in the picture has something to do with it? The latter is probably the most likely explanation, especially as rumours point to him not being alive at this point in time in the DC Extended Universe, so the GCPD turning on Batman as a result makes sense. It would also mirror how they felt towards him in Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns too of course.
