8 Major Batman V Superman Details Revealed By Total Film

6. Tension Between Bruce Wayne And Lex Luthor

Not an awful lot is known about Lex Luthor as of right now, with the Batman v Superman trailer only really hinting as to what his motivations might be. He'll clearly share some scenes with Superman, but whether or not the iconic villain will square off with the Caped Crusader remains to be seen. Rumours and on set reports do point to Lex meeting up with Bruce though, and it sounds like their relationship will be one fuelled by tension. "It's strange acting with people like Ben Affleck, having to condescend to someone like him," Jesse Eisenberg told the magazine. "Off set, you're thinking of this person is reverential terms, and then on set I condescending him, really quite nasty." That should make for interesting viewing, and after director Zack Snyder confirmed that they had looked at the "usual suspects" to play the villain, Eisenberg weighed in with what makes this version different to what we've seen before. "He is a lot of the things we know about the character. It's a very modern take on his otherwise historic and iconic character. He has a, I would say, recognisably modern psychology, whether it's being used to charm or destroy." It's clear then that this version of Lex is going to be a lot more complex than what we're used to seeing, but don't worry, there's one classic element of the character which will definitely still factor into Batman v Superman; the magazine confirms that the actor did indeed shave his head for the role!
