8. Wolverine

Why He Could Die: This is a prime example of the "multiple timeline" effect. If it takes several tries to change the past, and Wolverine could potentially be killed in one of them (here's hoping Singer recreates the classic panel of Wolverine being incinerated by a Sentinel). The character is reportedly not meant to be a part of followup X-Men: Apocalypse, which is strange considering he's the franchise's poster boy. A third Wolverine standalone movie is scheduled for 2017, but given the character's long life, it could be set at any time in his past. Also, it would show considerable balls on Fox's part to kill off Logan. Why He Could Live: C'mon now, this is Wolverine! The man has an insane healing factor that allows him to live through a direct headshot and the fact that he is an extremely popular character certainly helps matters. Also, for the past to be saved, it would only make sense for the man sent back to save it to actually make it through alive. A third standalone Wolverine movie is set for 2017, and if it is set in current continuity that means Logan lives through Days of Future Past. Likelihood: 1/10. Wolverine is just too popular to die in this film.
