Big news out of the panel for Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight: Ennio Morricone will return to the western genre for the first time in decades to score QT's latest. A huge announcement, considering Morricone is 86, and God knows when/if arguably the greatest ever composer of western scores will do another.

On top of that, Tarantino was talking up various projects in development, including Kill Bill 3 (apparently Uma Thurman is up for it), while many news sources were claiming Quentin was also moving into television - amazing, considering he never said that. But the most concrete project the writer-director appears to have cooking is yet another western.

According to Tarantino, you need three westerns under your belt to be considered a 'western director' or "you're just dabbling", and so aims to make a third following Django Unchained and The Hateful Eight. When it will arrive is unclear, but do be aware that some people have been waiting for Tarantino's Vega brothers film for 20 years.
