Having been confirmed for the X-Men movie that will follow this year's Days of Future Past, anticipation about Apocalypse's arrival in the live action movie world has gone through the roof. The character is absolutely nothing like anything that we've seen in Fox's X-Men movie universe to date and he will take the threat that the titular team faces to a whole new level. He is a genius mutant who has vast psionic powers and possesses other abilities such as technopathy, superhuman strength, molecular manipulation and energy manipulation. All of these powers and abilities are augmented by advanced Celestial technology, which makes him a truly formidable opponent and villain. He is a huge threat on several levels, in that he has the physical power to battle the likes of the Colossus, the mental power to battle the likes of Professor X and the intelligence to prepare plans and invent technology to make him a danger to almost anyone. With a cool back story, all of the above powers and a megalomaniac personality, he could be an epic and extremely popular movie villain.
