8 MCU Villains Who Are Totally Underrated
3. Abomination
Tim Roth’s Abomination is the MCU’s first villain, but considering The Incredible Hulk is often swept under the rug when discussing Marvel movies, it’s natural he’d be forgotten. The movie certainly has its flaws, and we’ve all grown to connect with Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner more than we did with Ed Norton.
Still, Abomination is a great villain, kicking off the trend of heroes and villains sharing similar powers, and is owed a lot more recognition.
Abomination starts out as determined soldier Emil Blonsky, chasing Hulk down on orders from Thaddeus Ross. He has a single mindedness which must be admired; he deliberately infects himself with the same gamma as Hulk to stand a chance against him.
For all the grand plans of Thanos provide great drama, there’s always going to be a place for a villain whose only ambition is ‘I’m going to beat you’.
Another disappointment on the villain front from The Incredible Hulk is The Leader. Avid comic book fan Tim Blake Nelson was being set up for the role but with Hulk’s tricky licensing issues and most fans ignoring The Incredible Hulk, both The Leader and Abomination seem to be permanently on ice.
