8 MCU Villains Who Are Totally Underrated

4. Ulysses Klaue

Unfortunately for him, Ulysses Klaue came up against one of the MCU’s best ever villains in Black Panther. Not only did Erik Killmonger kill him on screen, Michael B. Jordan’s powerhouse performance killed any chance of him being remembered too.

His cameo in Avengers: Age Of Ultron is decent, but his reputation doesn’t seem to have kicked on from there. In the scene where Ultron wires him riches then chops off his hand, Serkis gets to show Klaue’s personality well, but it’s understandable that he be a little forgettable as a minor character in a team up movie; especially when Ultron himself, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver and Vision are being introduced too.

However, he’s given decent screen time in Black Panther and some great scenes, but he’s still barely remembered. The casino and car chase parts of Panther are well known, but the fact Klaue is the catalyst is largely ignored.

The museum heist too, while elevated by Killmonger’s slowly growing menace and generational pain, shines when Klaue is in the driving seat. Few villains take as much petty fun in their misdeeds as Klaue does when he tells the guard to run, only to shoot him in the back.
