8 Mind-Blowing Movie Coincidences You Won't Believe Actually Happened

1. A Coat Bought By The Wardrobe Department Turns Out To Be The Property Of L. Frank Baum - The Wizard Of Oz

Frank L. Frank Baum wrote The Wizard of Oz, but unfortunately he died in 1919 before he could ever see the movie version. If you've seen the movie version, you'll know that actor Frank Morgan played both Professor Marvel and the Wizard himself, because in this movie every actor plays a character in Kansas and one in Oz, too. Morgan actually played five separate characters in all, though, which meant a whole lot of costumin' had to be done.

For Marvel's wardrobe, the designers wanted something elegant but tatty, so they went down to a second-hand store and - collectively - decided on a jacket which they all agreed would be perfect. Here's the mind-blowing part: when Morgan was fitted with the jacket, he turned the pocket inside out and found a tag labelled "L. Frank Baum."

Eventually, the crew managed to confirm that the jacket had, once upon a time, been made especially for the famed author.
