8 More Background Actors In Star Wars Who Got Themselves Noticed

Now this one's quite unique.

While it's still not technically been 100% confirmed at time of writing, it's believed by many that the white-bearded rebel soldier found taking the fight to the Empire on the forest moon of Endor is actually someone Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Rebels lovers know all too well.

For years, fans of Episode VI - Return of the Jedi just assumed this older gentleman was little more than your standard rebel fighter, doing his bit to bring down the forces of evil in the galaxy. However, as the aforementioned animated shows continued airing, fans started to look a little closer at the character played by L. Burner.

Strangely enough, this Nik Sant looked a lot like the one-time right hand man of Anakin Skywalker within his 501st Legion of clone troopers, Captain Rex.

Dave Filoni, one of the creators of both The Clone Wars and Rebels, was clearly intrigued by the bearded warrior, and even confessed later down the road at the Rebels season two premiere (via SlashFilm) that he felt it was Rex at the Battle of Endor - why else would you have an old guy there?

In the end, though, Filoni was reluctant to fully make this part of the new canon, instead just noting to IGN that Rex was very much present on Endor without officially confirming he was Sant. He wanted to leave it open to fans.

In other words, if you want to believe that Rex is helping Han Solo, Leia Organa and the Ewoks kick some stormtrooper ass here or you don't, then you do you.

Either way, Burner's background character still clearly caught a few people's attention - some of them being very important Lucasfilm folk - decades after his 1983 debut.
