Keanu Reeves can surely be the only actor who has appeared in a movie solely because his friend forged his signature, which is precisely what happened when he appeared in little-seen thriller The Watcher. Next time, maybe just get a new signature Keanu. Or some new friends. Or go full John Wick and sort your problems out that way, we won't judge.

Remarkably, after the signature was forged, Reeves couldn't just reveal that it had happened and back out of the movie. Instead, he did the good guy thing and actually made it (partly because he would have been so sued if he hadn't). A year after the movie was released, he admitted that he hadn't found the script interesting but couldn't prove his mate forged his signature so he had no choice.

Somewhat understandably, he also refused to do any press for the movie ahead of its release, which was probably a good idea, regardless of forgery, since it's PAINFULLY bad. The Watcher huh? More like The Botcher.
