8 More Star Wars Questions That Always Confused You

7. Does General Grievous Have Asthma?

Excuse the tongue-in-cheek phrasing of this question, but seriously, what is up with this guy's lungs?

General Grievous was too good for this world. He was certainly too good for Revenge of the Sith, standing out as one of that movie's greatest achievements.

As a result of being awesome, the four-armed cyborg has appeared in dozens of Expanded Universe materials since General Kenobi first greeted him with "Hello there." And because Star Wars is full of villains with respiratory issues, Grievous can often be heard coughing after speaking.

Is this a result of his robotic form? Does he genuinely have asthma? Nope! Turns out that this is Samuel L. Jackson's fault.

The original Clone Wars TV show that ran between 2003 and 2005 features a scene where Mace Windu is chasing the General down. Before he can escape, Windu crushes Grievous' chest plate with the Force, which is what gives him breathing problems for the rest of his life.

Bit unnecessary there, Mace. What did Grievous ever do to you?

Oh yeah, all the people he killed.

As you were, Master Jedi.
