8 Most Cringeworthy Moments In 2015's Comic Book Movies

1. Kingsman's Anal Sex Joke - Kingsman: Secret Service

Unlike a lot of other people, I honestly didn't find the anal sex joke at the end of Kingsman: The Secret Service all that offensive. Some claimed it was an extremely sexist scene from the "misogynist" Matthew Vaughn, but I don't see it that way. Instead, it feels like an unnecessary final joke which was thrown in purely for the sake of cheap laughs, and that's why it's such a cringeworthy moment in this otherwise fun R-Rated flick. The princess offering Eggsy anal sex in return for saving her is odd enough in itself, but the movie's young hero going back and making good on that just feels like of uncomfortable and strange. I'm not someone easily offended by crude humour (hell, that's why I'm so excited for Deadpool), but this felt wildly out of place in Kingsman and in many ways sours the ending of a truly great movie. Still, of all the issues and awkwardness this scene raises, I do have to give Matthew Vaughn credit for an Easter Egg he managed to sneak in. Taron Egerton revealed in an interview earlier this year that the code Eggsy punches in to release the princess spells, "A-N-A-L". Immature? Yes, but it's at least nowhere near as cringeworthy as the way Kingsman ends with a bad joke which fails to hit the mark.
