8 Most Devastating Disney Deaths Of All Time
3. Tarzan’s Parents (Tarzan)
Unbelievable how many of these entries involve parents isn't it?. This one, though, comes from (in my professional opinion) the best of the Disney animated movies, Tarzan.
The film opens up with the incomparable soundtrack by Phil Collins, which taught us to put our faith in what we most believe in. And it’s from that moment we’re introduced to what I can only imagine were ancestors of the great Bear Grylls. Tarzan’s parents were natural survivors. After their ship wrecks off the coast of Africa, they sail to shore in their little raft and build a home in the trees. This is where they raise their child until one fateful day a cheetah, later revealed to be Sabor, attacks them but for some reason - plot - leaves the baby alive and awaits Kala to come to the rescue before attempting to kill them both.
Although we never hear them speak and we don’t see them do much it was still hard to watch as we saw their home in bits with the wooded planks they once walked on covered in their own blood. After they survived one awful attack at sea, only to see them die mere minutes later. We learned a lot from their death however, the main lesson being… two worlds, one family.
