8 Most Genius Moments In Deadpool's Marketing Campaign

1. The Trailer, Obviously

Since being released earlier this week, the red-band trailer for Deadpool has clocked up an incredible 14 million views. That might be a long way off from the 40+ million that both of the Batman v Superman previews have so far generated, but those are phenomenal numbers for a red-band trailer promoting a movie featuring a character who is pretty damn obscure. More importantly, it's just a damn good first look at the movie. Kicking off by establishing the fact that Deadpool is going to have an actual story and that Wade Wilson will have a proper emotional arc, it dives straight into the violent and beautifully choreographed violence one would hope to see from a movie starring this character and is packed full of hilarious jokes and sight gags. They even have a Colossus in there who looks like he's been torn straight from the pages of the comics, a feat Bryan Singer was unable to achieve over the course of two movies. Deadpool looks like no other comic book movie coming out in 2016, and in a year which is going to see sweeping and serious epics like Captain America: Civil War, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and X-Men: Apocalypse hit cinemas, it could be exactly what's needed to remind everyone that superhero movies can be fun...and packed full of swearing and violence too of course.
