7. No Amount Of Money Ever Bought A Second Of Time

Tony Stark never had the greatest relationship with his dad. Howard Stark prioritized work, science and money over his son, and kept him completely at arm’s length for his entire life. The only real moment they shared came when Tony went back in time to 1970.

Disguised as Howard Potts, the two Starks connected over being parents. Tony’s daughter, Morgan, was four or five years old, and Howard was to become a dad in the coming months. He asked his son for any advice, and Tony told him something that he had been told himself before, that no amount of money ever bought a second of time.

It’s a wonderful sentiment about priorities, and that money ultimately means little compared to time spent with loved ones. However, the exact wording of it is directly contradicted throughout the movie, and even at that very moment.

Throughout Avengers: Endgame, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are able to travel back in time thanks to Tony Stark’s time travel GPS. Do you think this would have ever been possible to create without his immense wealth? Money did in fact buy the Avengers more than a few seconds of time.
