4. Doctor Strange Could Have Saved His Own Hands

Though not the MCU’s Sorcerer Supreme as confirmed by Wong in No Way Home, Doctor Strange is still one of the most powerful sorcerers in the universe. Like many superheroic origin stories however, this came out of tragedy and a horrendous accident.

While driving at ridiculous speeds, weaving in and out of traffic and checking an X-ray, Stephen was in a huge car crash of his own making. He was lucky to emerge from the wreckage alive, however he did lose much of the function of his hands, which, as a neurosurgeon, was life changing.

Before he found the mystic arts in Kamar-Taj, Stephen would have thought of this as just as bad as being killed. His career was everything to him, the source of his fame and his money, and now it was gone. He tried everything to get help, exhausted all his resources and all of his money trying to get better, but as Christine told him, no one could have done any more.

The crippling irony? Stephen himself was one of the greatest surgeons in the country, and he could have done better himself.
