8 Movie Characters Who Foreshadowed Their Own Deaths

3. Darwin (X-Men: First Class)

X-Men: First Class was a fantastic reinvigoration of the long-running superhero series, thanks in large part to its slew of entertaining, diverse characters.

Among this group of new additions was Darwin, a mutant with the power to adapt to his surroundings - he can grow gills while underwater, for example.

But this power couldn't save him when Sebastian Shaw attacked the base that Darwin was holed up in. After absorbing a blast fired at him by Havok, Shaw took this energy and pushed it down Darwin's throat, causing him to explode from the inside out.

In essence, Havok's energy killed Darwin - a scenario that was foreshadowed minutes before.

Just before Shaw attacks the facility, Havok and Darwin can be seen playing on a pinball machine. Darwin is clearly losing, as evidenced by the fact that he remarks "Jesus man, you are killing me."

And sadly, mere moments later, this throwaway comment becomes a harsh reality.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
