8 Movie Characters Who Foreshadowed Their Own Deaths

1. Kane (Alien)

The death of John Hurt's Kane is one of the most shocking scenes in cinema history, even when you know it's coming.

Killed by a chestburster after being impregnated by an alien facehugger, Kane was the first character to die in Ridley Scott's original Alien movie, and his demise was signposted right at the beginning of the movie.

Shortly after the crew of the Nostromo wakes from stasis, they sit round a table to eat and drink, recovering from the long period of sleep they've had to endure.

Obviously, they're all feeling a little funny and a little low on energy - as a result of the hypersleep - which prompts Kane to say "I feel dead".

This was clearly a joke, but little did he know that soon, he would be dead. Poor guy.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
