8 Movie Villains Who Were Way Worse In Real Life
5. Tommy DeSimone - Goodfellas
Given the intensity of Joe Pesci's performance as Tommy DeVito in Goodfellas, you'd be forgiven for snearing at the idea that the real-life figure behind the character - Tommy DeSimone - was a far more terrifying figure. The portrayal rightly suggests he was ruthless and horrendously violent, with a long list of murder victims far longer than the film suggests.
He also wasn't only killed for the murder of Billy Bats. Apparently, DeSimone had attempted to rape Henry Hill's wife Karen while he was in prison, As she was having an affair with his boss Paul Vario, Tommy was killed in vengeance.
Also, Henry Hill is a remarkably softened character on screen than he was in real-life, but you can pin that more on him being an unreliable narrator who wouldn't want to implicate himself in the two murders he was known to have committed. And Jimmy Conway (real name Burke) definitely didn't live up to his nickname, "The Gent" when he locked children in refrigerators...
