8 Movie Villains Whose Punishments Were Far Too Severe

6. Edward Rooney (Ferris Bueller's Day Off)

Here's a classic case of a so-called villain who was simply doing his job.

School principal Edward Rooney spent the duration of Ferris Bueller's Day Off attempting to prove that Matthew Broderick's eponymous student was feigning sickness to bunk off. Rod up his backside, or what?

But hang on a second. Isn't that literally what he's paid to do? By tax money, no less.

Did he really deserve to get kicked in the face, lose his wallet and almost get mauled to death by a rottweiler for going above and beyond in his line of work?

Meanwhile, Ferris, who lied, he stole and destroyed a brand-spanking new car is hailed as the hero of the film. Life just isn't fair sometimes.
