8 Movies Loved By Their Viewers But Hated By Their Critics

5. Power Rangers (2017)

Immediately, you can understand why critics weren't that big of a fan of the movie.

The film spends two-thirds of its time pottering around asking the question "what if the Breakfast Club got super-powers?" before finally showing the heroes morph into their battle armour and ride around in the Zords. Critics leaned into the fact that selling a movie based on its name, whipping up hype based on nostalgia, and casting an ensemble of unknown actors is what let it down in the end.

The audiences, however, saw past the above criticisms and the combined efforts of casual viewers and die-hard Power Rangers enthusiasts , seemed to appreciate that the films nods and homages to a variety of previous incantations.

A number of fans also appreciated the first gay (Yellow Ranger), and autistic superhero (Blue Ranger), and handling these creative decisions with care and respect.

The movie could have been a worse, but it could also have been a lot better. And while it might be thrown away as a forgettable 2017 flick, there's no denying it was fun once the action started and the "Go Go Power Rangers" theme chimes through.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
