8 Movies That Changed Hugely From The Trailers

1. Paranormal Activity 3 Cut Almost All The Trailer Scenes

The Trailers: The first and second trailers for the third Paranormal Activity both feature a number of memorable scenes to hype up the film's release, most notably young Katie and Kristi playing the Bloody Mary game in their bathroom, an exposition-spouting priest being attacked by the demon, and the brief glimpse of a house on fire among countless other snippets of dialogue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90r3CnPI0AM The Final Movie: The movie was released mere weeks after that second trailer dropped, and an overwhelming amount of footage from these two trailers is missing from the final product. The Bloody Mary game is instead featured in another scene, the priest character is nowhere to be found, the burning house isn't there, nor are at least half a dozen other scenes from these trailers, leaving little to actually end up in the film. On one hand, the trailer firmly establishes the tone of the film audiences are going to see while keeping spoilers to a minimum, but isn't it kinda weird that they shot so much superfluous footage that didn't properly reflect the film people were paying for? It's a strange marketing strategy, and while it didn't hurt the series' financials (the third remains the series' highest-grossing), it's reasonable that some viewers felt a little disappointed that some of these creepy scenes didn't show up in the film. Which movies do you feel most differed from the trailers? Shout them out in the comments!
