8 Movies That Don't Deserve The Hate

1. Battlefield Earth

Battlefield Earth Ha, I am expecting all sorts of comments when it comes to this choice, that why I put it last on the list. but no matter what people think of me I will not only proudly stand up with one hand on my heart and the other high in the sky and say "I enjoy watching this movie" but will go on to say that it is actually an official part of my collection. This movie is just so awesomely bad I can't help but get into it. That's right, for me at least this falls under the category of "It's so bad it's good."When I am in the right mood there is nothing I enjoy more then cookin' up some microwave popcorn and settling in for some truly psychotic movie madness from the creators of Scientology. I think my love for this film stems from the fact that once I found out this was based on a book from the ol' nutjob himself, L. Ron Hubbard, I immediately had ZERO expectations that it was going to be at all good.
But when I finally watched it I found it not only surprised me in the entertainment factor but it hearkened back to the days of good old b-grade sci fi that graced our screens from the 50's right up until the 80's. John Travolta as a 9 foot alien with dreadlocks is just b-grade gold that reminded me of cult classics like "Ice Pirates" and "Buck Rogers," a style of filmmaking which hasn't really been seen since Dolph Lundgren seminal sci fi schlock, "Dark Angel" or as you Americans may know as "I Come In Peace." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuKLiCcMAQM The awesome thing about this film is that the creators truly believed they were making a great movie so the acting is not as bad as most people make out, definitely better then some of the crazy sci fi I grew up with. Battlefield Earth was a flick that was made about 20 years too late as I can actually see it being a hit if it was released say, between 1978 and 1982. Or at least go on to form some type of cult status. Hell, if Tommy Wiseau can procure a following why can't this? So there it is. Call me crazy, call me loopy. Hell, call me psychotic for enjoying these films. But I don't care. You see, I, unlike what appears to be the majority of you, don't feel the need to jump on the hate bandwagon to fulfill some weird fantasy that I am part of a group or that I belong. I am a unique person who lives by his own rules and who does not let anyone's judgment of me or the mainstream consensus of something affect my need to be entertained. Or maybe I am just crazy ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cp2NAZAzg38

Passions in life: Movies, Music and Wrestling....My childhood was spent growing up in the "Outback" of Australia (I'm a little bit country) and my adulthood resided within the city limits (I'm a little bit rock and roll), so you could say that I am the best (or worst) of both worlds. A 6 foot 7 ex wannabe pro wrestler (whose career was cut short due to a busted back, NOT caused by wrestling) & muso who has a precocious cat & a habit of doing the wrong thing but for the right reasons. The story of my life???? All demos, no albums ;)
