You've noticed the common denominator in the Academy Award acting nominations for this year, right? Well, yes, they do all happen to be white. But there's something else. A lot of them apparently have a song in their hearts, and have performed music on the down-low for years. While it's certainly not uncommon for the type of people who are drawn to acting to have talents in other creative, performance-based endeavors, it is a funny little coincidence that so many of the nominees this year have rather strong singing voices, but at the same time for the most part aren't the actors who are well known for their musical skills. These are not your Hugh Jackmans, Ewan McGregors, or Anne Hathaways. No, these guys only burst into song when they really need to. But through the magic of youtube, we can take a look at their musical performances, most of which they would probably much rather hide. Which is weird, because they're actually pretty good. While some people on the list are more open about this, it's very clear that others have buried these babies down deep. Come on, guys: step up to the microphone and sing your unfairly talented hearts out.
