7. Alan Taylor - Thor: The Dark World

As a veteran Game Of Thrones helmer, Alan Taylor seemed like a perfect fit to take over Marvel's Thor sequel. Already, Kenneth Branagh, director of the first Thor, had dropped out, while original Thor 2 director Patty Jenkins left the film due to "creative differences" - which is Hollywood-speak for "a massive fallout" - leaving the space open for Taylor.

And now, he probably wishes he'd never bothered. Though Thor: The Dark World generally went down well with fans - if not as much with critics - Taylor has publicly disclosed that he had a regrettable time during production.

In an interview with Uproxx, Taylor stated that his Marvel experience was "wrenching", and that the freedom he found while he was shooting was not replicated in the editing bay, where the film was taken from his creative control. Taylor's closing statement on the Thor 2 affair was that he "didn't wish [it] upon anybody else", which is Hollywood-speak for "f*** Marvel".
