Asked to write a song for A Nightmare On Elm Street 5: The Demon Child, Bruce Dickinson wrote Bring Your Daughter To The Slaughter €œin about 3 minutes€, winning Worst Original Song at the 10th annual Razzies in the process.

While Cosby deserved his awards, you have to wonder if the Iron Maiden frontman was nominated out of desperation, a frankly patronising attitude towards metal, or both. In the same category there were only 2 other nominees, and one of them was Pet Sematary by The Ramones.

Rerecorded by Iron Maiden in a version that €œjust really goes for it€, not only is Slaughter one of their best songs, it€™s also the band€™s only UK Number One, a feat it achieved despite being banned by the BBC. The song€™s provenance might€™ve had something to do with it €“ how many of you saw The Demon Child and liked it?
